Advance is where promising young dancers begin transforming potential into promise. Purposefully designed for ages 10-11, this boutique after-school training program develops the technique, discipline and artistry that form the foundations and mindset to set them apart.
This is more than just training, Advance is about helping young dancers find joy in the process of growth, self - confidence, teamwork, and focus - while learning to perform with pride and presence.

Develop safe dance habits for life. Learn correct warm-up, cool-down and injury prevention techniques supported by age-appropriate biomechanics.

Build body and mind awareness. Discover how anatomy and body language influence movement quality, stage presence, posture, and expression.

Cultivate focus and confidence. Strengthen goal-setting and time management. Formulate the foundations of a growth mindset through constructive feedback and reflection.

Gain insight into performance psychology. Learn how mindset and emotional regulation enhance motivation and performance.

Take responsibility for progress. Begin to self-assess, set personal standards, and take ownership of effort and improvement.

Grow as an individual and as a teammate. Develop communication, cooperation, and leadership through collaborative group performance work and ensemble experiences.

Advance students age appropriate specialised classes including

Tricks Lab: Refine agile, controlled power-moves. Build strength, flexibility, and spacial awareness to safely develop and execute skills such as illusions, aerials, and other dynamic tricks.

Turns & Leaps Lab: Targeted session for explosive jumps, strong take-offs, and precise landings. Improve form and alignment to achieve multiple pirouettes, fouettés, and clean directional turns.

Feet Lab: dedicated to foot strength, flexibility and control; improving sickling, alignment and technical agility for beautiful, healthy dancer feet.

Tech Lab: Made for serious progress. Refine beautiful lines, extensions, movement quality and storytelling.

PBT/Pilaties/Strength: Smart body-work that boosts core stability, posture and injury protection through dancer-specific conditioning.

Part-time after school hours over one year.
Classes are held during QLD school terms.
Students may also receive performance opportunities and guest workshops which may require additional time commitments.
Entry is by audition or invitation and is best suited to dancers who:
- are a minimum 10 years or older (example in Years 5 or 6 at school)
- have a minimum 1 year current dance training
- are training in a Ballet syllabus and at least one other dance style
- thrive in a focused, good work ethic environment;
- have a willingness to commit to regular attendance, assessments, and personal growth

Fees are all-inclusive of unlimited core, lab and elective classes and SDA College offers flexible payment options to support accessibility, including Payment plans. Some students may access VET in Schools funding through their education provider.

Extend offers young, passionate dancers a structured, industry-aligned training program for students in Grades 7–8 (turning 12+) who are ready to train with purpose, earn real qualifications, and be mentored toward professional pathways.
Delivered after school hours to complement academic life, Extend offers dancers real progression with greater depth, direction, and technical development than regular classes — building confident, capable and well rounded performers.
